Introduction to EU RoHS Environmental Standards

RoHS is a mandatory standard established by the European Union legislation, with its full name being the "Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Used in Electrical and Electronic Equipment". This standard, which came into effect on July 1, 2006, primarily aims to regulate the materials and manufacturing processes of electrical and electronic products, making them more conducive to human health and environmental protection.

The purpose of this standard is to eliminate six substances, namely lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers, from electrical and electronic products, with a particular emphasis on stipulating that the lead content must not exceed 0.1%.
